There has been a lot going on lately, that has altered how I am to be doing business.
From the online space becoming less regulated, to the rise of AI, to the raising of taxes to key postal destinations – it’s definitely been keeping me on my toes to stay true to my personal values and those of my company.
With that said, I am making a few adjustments – a little Spring cleaning, if you will – to my business.
- I am no longer using Facebook. This was a tough one as the set up made it really easy for you all to see and access my products across their platforms. But after their recent developments, I simply cannot support that space anymore.
- I will be remaining on Instagram, but my focus will be on amplifying the message of slow, conscious-living, home-making and community building.
- My website blog has had a makeover! It’s now called, ‘The Hearth’, and will bring you updates on collections, a behind-the-scenes look into my processes, styling ideas, and so much more!
- You can now find me on Substack, where I write about re-discovering the meaning of ‘home’. I’d love to see you there, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the weekly posts!
- I am reducing how often I launch collections, to re-align with my slow and mindful living approach. I design our products here in my studio, and I want to be able to enjoy that process. At times, it’s very easy to feel like I need to keep up with brands that launch things regularly, but when I step back and look – these things are often driven by trends or influencers. I’ve always been proud to offer timeless pieces, so altering my focus allows that to confidently continue.
- I am re-assessing where I am posting my products. Increasing import/export duties mean that many of you would be paying far beyond what I charge for my pieces. I calculate my charges based on what it costs me to make them, both in time and materials, with the postage added at the checkout. Recently I have seen a surge in delivery charges, which has often meant that it costs more than the product itself. I don’t think this is fair on you to pay, and unfortunately not a cost that my company can absorb. I will update my Shipping and Returns page in due course once I have assessed this. Of course, if you want to purchase something and you’re based in a location outside of my delivery scope, then please get in touch and we can make arrangements.
I really can’t wait for you to see what’s coming.
