February saw some glorious glimpses of Spring that had me very excited!
The snowdrops in my local woodland were in full force, and the 200 bulbs that my mum and I planted in the garden are eagerly breaking through the soil and showing their shoots.
In anticipation for this year and the direction I am taking the studio (as mentioned in last month’s Diary), I gave the website a much needed refresh and re-branded the blog to, The Hearth. I wanted to give this area an additional ‘homely’ feel, welcoming you to sit and join me, with a cup of tea, and listen to tales from the studio.
It’s very much my goal to make you feel at home when you’re on my site, and when you buy a piece from my studio, I want it to feel like receiving a gift from a friend – something that’s thoughtful, and a unique experience for just you.
I also re-shuffled the metaphorical shelves, and updated many of my products with a little extra history to their journey. I’ve always been interested in the origins of things, so I took a deep dive into linens, stripes and ginghams to start with, and shared my findings on their pages. Hopefully this addition of context to their story makes the items feel more special.
Next month I am refining a new design – The Willow Bough – which you will have seen featured on the homepage of my site. I hope to have this on wallpapers, cushions and linens very soon, in a handful of colourways.
As always, I am excited to show you want’s to come!
