January was very gloomy here in Norfolk.
There was certainly lots of hot chocolates being enjoyed, and hearty meals in the slow cooker to warm the soul.
When it wasn’t snowy or thick with ice, I took myself out on walks to breath in the fresh air, and see how nature was coping. I was also counting the extra minutes of light we were getting each week, getting excited for when we can fling open the windows and doors to let the fresh Spring air in.
I took the opportunity during this mild hibernation, to sit and plan where I wanted to take Twelfth of the Fifth in 2025 – with some new designs coming very soon, and a slight change of pace and content coming your way.
I was also enjoying a rather wonderful book that I got for Christmas, ‘The English Year’, which is a fabulous read about the traditional English customs that were once practised, or still alive today! It’s a truly fascinating read, and perfect for those chilly mid-winter evenings to snuggle up with.
I don’t tend to make resolutions in January, but I do like to spend time reflecting on the last year, and what I want to do differently or achieve in the year ahead – both personally and in my business. There is certainly going to be a lot more intentional living, home-making, and sharing how we can re-discover the magic of ‘home’, without trends, and feeling like we need picture-perfect spaces. Of course, I will still be making my products, and I will be maintaining my focus on timeless pieces, that are made to last, that add comfort and cosiness to a home.
I can’t wait to share what’s coming!
