Sustainability in Mind

It’s important to me that the things I put out into the world don’t have a negative effect.

As someone who is inspired by nature and the wonders it gives us, it only makes sense that I don’t want to ruin it. That is why I did extensive research on who I wanted to work with when bringing my ideas to life.

I am committed to promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility in the interiors industry. I believe that sustainable materials and practices are essential for the well-being of our planet for us now, and future generations. This sustainability policy outlines my commitment and the actions I take to minimise my environmental impact:

  1. Product Selection: I prioritise sourcing and offering products made from sustainable materials, such as FSC-certified paper, recycled materials, natural or organic fabrics, and water-based, low-toxin inks and finishes.
  2. Supplier Engagement: I collaborate with suppliers who share my commitment to sustainability, ensuring that their products and practices align with my values.
  3. Waste Management: I strive to minimise waste by adopting efficient processes. This is mostly why I choose the made-to-order model. For example, when my designs are printed to material, they are applied only to the size of the tea towel, or tablecloth, so there is minimal to no waste at all. The supplier I use has a re-purposing program, so if they produce a lot of offcuts, or have test prints made, they offer bundles of fabrics for crafting or DIY projects to divert them from landfill.
  4. Packaging: I use eco-friendly packaging materials, such as recycled cardboard, biodegradable or compostable materials, and minimize the use of plastic. All parts of the packaging can be recycled.
  5. Website Operations: I optimise the energy efficiency of my website by implementing best practices, including green web hosting, and server optimisation.
  6. Transportation Efficiency: I work with shipping partners that prioritise efficiency and sustainability in their operations, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and minimise the environmental impact of transportation.
  7. Carbon Offsetting: I participate in carbon offset programs to neutralise the emissions generated from shipping my products. From my sales, I donate 10% to projects that support renewable energy, reforestation, and other sustainable initiatives.
  8. Customer Engagement: I provide information and resources to my customers, promoting sustainable choices and the benefits of eco-friendly interiors. This includes highlighting the advantages of sustainable materials, maintenance tips, and sustainable design ideas.
  9. Continuous Improvement: I regularly review and measure my sustainability performance. I identify areas for improvement and set targets to enhance my environmental practices. I believe that by integrating sustainable materials and practices into my operations, I can make a positive difference in the interiors industry. I am dedicated to ongoing improvement and invite you to say if there is something that you have seen that I can improve on.
